Grief touches everyone at some point, yet it remains one of the hardest subjects to discuss openly. Every day in the United States, thousands of people face the pain of losing someone close. Despite this, many suffer quietly, without seeking support or sharing their feelings. This silence can deepen feelings of isolation and make healing more difficult. The Let’s Talk Grief™ Project aims to change this by encouraging open conversations and supporting those affected by loss. Through the Let’s Talk Grief™ Conference, people can come together to break the silence and find comfort in community.

The Hidden Challenge of Grief
Grief is more common than many realize. According to the World Population Review, about 8,000 people die daily in the United States. Each death affects not only the immediate family but also a wider circle of people including friends, neighbors, and coworkers. These groups are often called primary and secondary grievers. For example, a typical funeral might have around 50 attendees, meaning roughly 400,000 people experience grief every day.
Despite these numbers, formal grief support groups see very low attendance. On average, only about 15 people attend monthly grief support meetings. This gap shows that most people do not seek formal help or openly talk about their feelings. Many grievers suffer in silence, even those closest to the deceased.
This silence can make grief feel isolating and overwhelming. Without a safe space to express emotions, people may struggle to find healing and peace. Creating opportunities for open conversations about grief is essential to help people feel less alone and more supported.
How Let’s Talk Grief™ Conference Breaks the Silence
The Let’s Talk Grief™ Conference is a one-day event designed to bring together grief organizations, churches, and support groups to increase attendance and encourage open conversations about grief. This conference invites all grievers, regardless of how their loved one died, as well as relatives, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.
The conference offers a welcoming environment where people can feel comfortable sharing their experiences and emotions.
Let’s Talk Grief™'s goal is to host a Grief Conference more than once a year
in major cities across America. Ideally, four times a year. This will increase
attendance and community support for grievers.
