The Passing of Preston’s and Wesley’s Charm and “Let’s Talk Grief” Book Tour Across America

It’s been quite a run carrying and passing Preston’s and Wesley’s Charms. I’ve been carrying Preston’s Charm for 4 years and 4 months. Wesley’s Charm for 3 years and 4 months. It’s hard to believe that this much time has passed since Wesley’s death.

My journey with Preston’s Charm began on December 26, 2021, when I received it from Tammy and Junior Adams in Key West, Florida.

After a conversation with Bridget, I asked her to send me more of Preston’s Charms. For the next eight months, I left one of Preston’s Charms in every state and then returned the Preston’s Charm given to me by the Adams’ to Bridget.

I thought my journey with Preston’s Charm was over, but then I decided to write a book about Preston’s Charm, titled Preston's Charm: A Charm-ing, Healthy, and Empathetic Approach, which debuted in June 2024.

While Bridget and I were writing the book, Wesley passed away on December 18, 2022, almost one year after I received Preston’s Charm.

A few days after Wesley’s death, I called Bridget and asked her to make a charm for Wesley.

One month later, I traveled around the world with Wesley’s younger brother, Matthew, Preston’s Charm and Wesley’s Charm. We spent 2 months in India and 2 weeks in Vietnam.

After I returned to the USA, I asked Bridget to make 100 of Wesley’s Charms. As I did with Preston’s Charm, I traveled across America for the second time and left one of Wesley’s Charms in every state. The last state I visited was Hawaii, where I left one of Preston’s and Wesley’s Charms at the top of Diamond Head State Monument. In the photo is Evan, who watched me leave the Charms there. He asked what I was doing. I told him and then gave him one of Wesley’s Charms.

The Passing of Preston’s and Wesley’s Charm and the writing of Preston’s Charm and the Let’s Talk Grief books have played a big part in helping me manage my grief and heal with grace, peace, and harmony.

Preston’s and Wesley’s charms have been hanging around my neck on a lanyard for over 3 years. But a few days ago, I developed a rash on my neck and had to find another place to attach the Charms. So I decided to attach their Charms to a carabiner and clip them to a belt loop on the front of my pants.

I’m currently in Southern California and will begin traveling across America in my camper van again for the third time. This time, to host the Let’s Talk Grief Book Tour Across America, which will officially begin on May 15th with the release of my book Let’s Talk Grief: Breaking the Silence and Healing With Grace, Peace and Harmony.

As I travel across America, I will also continue leaving one of Wesley’s Charms in places I visit and with people I meet, encourage people to talk about grief anytime, anyplace, and with anyone, and also promote the Let’s Talk Grief book, my grief life coaching service, and the Let’s Talk Grief ™ Project.
